Getting Started with SecureDot
Welcome to SecureDot, your simple way to issue and manage free SSL certificates.
1️⃣ Create an Account
- Visit SecureDot and click Register/Login button in the top right corner
- A new popup will open.
- If you do not have an account, click on "Sign Up" and provide necessary information and confirm, this will log you in right away.
- If you already have an account, in the "Login" tab, provide your email and password. This will log you in.
- You can also sign up or login easily using your Google Account by clicking on "Continue with Google" or "Sign Up with Google"
- Click on the Avatar icon in the top Right corner and click on Dashboard
- This will take you to the Client Area.
2️⃣ Issue a New Certificate
- Click New Certificate.
- Enter your domain name (e.g.,
example.com
). - Follow the steps to verify domain ownership:
- Add the provided DNS TXT record to your DNS provider.
- Wait for DNS to propagate.
- Click Verify Ownership to complete validation.
3️⃣ Download & Install
- Once issued, download your certificate files (
.crt
), CA Bundle (.pem
) and private key (.key
). - Important: Save your private key securely — we do not keep a copy.
- Install your SSL certificate on your server. (See our Install SSL guide for step-by-step instructions.)
🛡️ Tips for Best Security
- Always use strong, unique passwords.
- Keep your private key in a safe place.
- Renew your certificates before they expire (after two months).
