Getting Started with SecureDot

Welcome to SecureDot, your simple way to issue and manage free SSL certificates.

1️⃣ Create an Account

  1. Visit SecureDot and click Register/Login button in the top right corner
  2. A new popup will open.
    1. If you do not have an account, click on "Sign Up" and provide necessary information and confirm, this will log you in right away.
    2. If you already have an account, in the "Login" tab, provide your email and password. This will log you in.
    3. You can also sign up or login easily using your Google Account by clicking on "Continue with Google" or "Sign Up with Google"
  3. Click on the Avatar icon in the top Right corner and click on Dashboard
  4. This will take you to the Client Area.

2️⃣ Issue a New Certificate

  1. Click New Certificate.
  2. Enter your domain name (e.g., example.com).
  3. Follow the steps to verify domain ownership:
    • Add the provided DNS TXT record to your DNS provider.
    • Wait for DNS to propagate.
    • Click Verify Ownership to complete validation.

3️⃣ Download & Install

  1. Once issued, download your certificate files (.crt), CA Bundle (.pem) and private key (.key).
  2. Important: Save your private key securely — we do not keep a copy.
  3. Install your SSL certificate on your server. (See our Install SSL guide for step-by-step instructions.)

🛡️ Tips for Best Security

  • Always use strong, unique passwords.
  • Keep your private key in a safe place.
  • Renew your certificates before they expire (after two months).
